Harriet Mercer is a British author. Brought up in London, Langport and Cardiff, she’s proud of her Welsh birth certificate. Since graduating from the University of Wales, Lampeter, in English Literature several decades ago, she has taught English language, and worked in jewellery. Belatedly, she completed an MA in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she achieved a distinction and won the University of London Creative Writing Prize. Harriet’s favourite accessory? A camera - photography has been her constant companion since childhood. Gargoyles is her first book.
